We are happy to have grabbed the domain name classifiednigeria.com.

After backordering the domain name a few weeks ago, it went through several nameservers - domain companies which has snapped it, tested it for a few days and moved on - before our domain agent Godaddy.com emailed today to say: CLASSIFIEDNIGERIA.COM Successfully Captured

Why did we backorder this domain name? Simply put, so that people who mistyped the domain (missing the ’s’) can also find the site ClassifiedsNigeria.com.

One the one hand, people will not be frustrated to see a different site and on the other hand, we will not be loosing the traffic (even if it is small) that could have been coming to our site.

Today, we have redirected ClassifiedNigeria.com to ClassifiedsNigeria.com.

Tomorrow, we are test launching the site in Alpha, by allowing a few people post free ads and see if their are any bugs or technical problems. This testing will continue publicly from May 1st 2008.

We are still working on several areas in the site, so please don’t expect a perfect service yet.

After working on Classifieds Nigeria most of the week, we are pleased to announce that the Alpha version will be launched on April 28, 2008.

At the moment, the site still has several bugs that needs to be fixed and our coders are working over the weekend to resolve these.

Since the site started development over two weeks ago, its interesting to notice its indexing on Google search and its already appearing on the homepage for the search phrase Classifieds Nigeria.

The site is also number 1 for the phrase ClassifiedsNigeria
